Deep Mountain Maple has been part of GrowNYC’s flagship Greenmarket at Union Square in Manhattan on Fridays and Saturdays since 1985. Today, Deep Mountain has a year-round presence at the Greenmarkets in Jackson Heights, Queens and Ft. Greene, Brooklyn, as well as the seasonal market in the fall at Rockefeller Center.
We believe in the real marketplace, where people come together to celebrate the seasonality of food, and get to know the people who produce what they eat.
We value the overlapping connections between farms that encourages the creation of new products, such as City Saucery’s Maple Marinara, Tart’s Maple Vinegar, elixirs from Furnace Creek Farm, or our annual (very) small batch Sour Cherry Maple Syrup, made with fruit grown by our friends at Samascott Orchards.
We cherish the collaborations with local businesses like Joe Coffee and Tompkins Square Bagels at Union Square, and The Queensboro in Jackson Heights. Most importantly, we are grateful for the many customers we've had for decades, through all manner of life changes and global events, who bring their grandchildren back to taste the same maple candy and maple syrup they have enjoyed, season after season.
In 2026, we honor and celebrate the 50th birthday of Greenmarket, which has grown to become one of the largest systems of outdoor markets in the United States, with over 45 locations throughout the five boroughs, and including more than 190 farms and producers from the Northeast region. Through its commitment to bringing fresh, local food to all New Yorkers, Greenmarket helps to steward more than 49,000 acres of farmland.
