What is the best way to store maple syrup?
Unopened syrup keeps indefinitely. After opening, maple syrup should be kept in the refrigerator. If your syrup develops a mold on the surface, don't worry; the mold is harmless and your syrup isn't ruined. Just filter out the mold and, if you like, reheat the syrup until it is hot, but not boiling, about 190 degrees. You can also store your syrup in the freezer -- it won't freeze solid, or expand inside the container.
What is the best way to store maple candy?
Maple candy doesn't like the heat, so it's best to keep your candy sealed in the bag it arrived in, and then in the fridge or freezer. Sealed and kept cold, your candy should stay fresh for at least two to three weeks.
What shipping method do you use?
Deep Mountain ships via FedEx Ground service in sturdy "Indestructo" mailing boxes cushioned with biodegradable starch peanuts. We've selected containers that we believe are "shipping-proof" so you don't have to worry about your syrup arriving damaged or broken. ***Also, we highly recommend using a business address when ordering syrup, or a location where someone can safely receive the box, especially if you are ordering maple candy shipped to warmer climates.***
How often do you ship?
Deep Mountain ships once a week, on Mondays. If you place an order on a Monday, your order may not ship out until the following Monday. If you need your syrup in a rush, please email us and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
How long will it take my syrup to arrive?
All our boxes are shipped with a tracking number, so you can monitor your syrup as it travels. Typically, boxes make it to East Coast addresses in 2-3 business days, and to the West Coast and Midwest addresses in 4-5 business days.
What are your 2016 holiday shipping deadlines?
In order to have your syrup on hand for Thanksgiving, orders must be placed before November 7.
In order to have your syrup on hand for Christmas, orders must be placed before December 14.

Do you offer overnight shipping?
We are happy to upgrade your order to overnight shipping upon request. If you're looking to have your syrup faster than usual, please email us before placing an order so that we can provide you with a shipping cost estimate, and to make sure we can fulfill your request.
Do you ship overseas?
We do ship to international addresses, however the cost can be prohibitive, since syrup can be quite heavy. If you are looking for a shipping quote to somewhere outside of the U.S., just let us know.
What is your return policy?
A product that is returned must be in its original container. If a customer returns a product, we will refund the price of the product -- shipping costs are not refundable. In addition, the customer must pay shipping costs for the return, and assumes responsibility for packaging the product properly. We will not be responsible for deterioration due to improper storage -- all maple syrup should be refrigerated after opening. We stand by our syrup, and we know you will love it.
